From the weekend.

Ah hah! It is about time for another post. So, here it is.

The last few days have had their joys as well as their changes in plans. On Thursday our team, along with 175 energy-packed Indian kids spent the day at the Museum. It was fantastic! The highlight of the museum was a 5 foot tall veiled Rebecca statue. This elegantly carved marble statue was crafted with such detail that the veil that covers Rebecca’s face and body looks as soft as silk. Not surprisingly, this is the main attraction of the museum. Other attractions of the museum include the preponderance of marble and wood relief, as well as artifacts from China and other places. The intricacy of many of these artifacts shows that man has always been incredibly intelligent.

Friday:
Today was a very sad day as it was our last day at the school. However, unlike the previous days, our team had the opportunity of giving a few special gifts to the school. On Thursday our team bought about $700 worth of musical instruments, including three guitars, 1 electric piano and a large speaker to accompany the piano. During the morning assembly, in which all of the students must attend for drill, devotions, national anthem, et cetera, our team presented the gifts to the school and played a few songs with the instruments we had purchased. It was a very special time for all of us! The school had wanted these instruments so they could begin teaching the kids music lessons. With these instruments, they can begin and grow their music program.

Again, we entered the classroom to teach and interact with the students! This has been a very special time for me as it has awakened passions about teaching. In one particular classroom Lori Taylor and I attempted to play hangman with student form 2nd standard. The game started peacefully, but them erupted into chaos! We tried to settle them down, but it was useless. The kids absolutely steam-rolled us, and their shorts deafened our ears.
